Compress a JPG to under 200 KB
Set a 200 KB limit and let the browser try different JPEG quality levels. Original pixel dimensions are preserved unless you change them.
Resize and compress an image
JPG, PNG or WebP. Choose the exact dimensions and maximum size of your output.
Max 25 MB · Images are never uploaded
Leave either width or height blank to keep the original aspect ratio. Two filled dimensions use the selected resize method.
Work with PDFs
Merge PDFs, extract selected pages, or create a PDF from images without sending files to a server.
Choose two or more PDFs · Max 30 MB each
Page numbering starts at 1. Pages appear in the specified order.
How PASSFILE works
The file is processed locally in your browser. For images, PASS checks the actual output format, pixel dimensions and file size. If a strict size limit cannot be met, PASSFILE reports that instead of claiming success. A PASS does not guarantee acceptance by an external portal.
Privacy by design
Your selected files are not uploaded to PASSFILE servers. Merging or extracting PDFs loads a third-party JavaScript library over the network; use only with documents you are comfortable processing in the browser. Avoid extremely large or confidential documents while the service is in beta.
How to get a JPG below 200 KB
Choose your photograph and click Make it fit. The tool tests JPEG quality levels and checks the resulting file size. For best results, begin with the original pixels unchanged.
Why might compression fail?
A detailed or very large photo may not fit under 200 KB at usable quality. If you see SIZE LIMIT NOT MET, enter smaller width and height values, or try a tighter crop. PASSFILE never labels an oversized result as a pass.
What happens to transparency?
JPEG has no transparent pixels. Transparent regions in PNG or WebP source images are flattened onto the selected background color.
