Convert JPG to PNG
Turn JPEG photos into PNG files without changing their pixel dimensions. PNG is lossless for subsequent editing, but cannot restore already-lost JPEG detail.
Resize and compress an image
JPG, PNG or WebP. Choose the exact dimensions and maximum size of your output.
Max 25 MB · Images are never uploaded
Leave either width or height blank to keep the original aspect ratio. Two filled dimensions use the selected resize method.
Work with PDFs
Merge PDFs, extract selected pages, or create a PDF from images without sending files to a server.
Choose two or more PDFs · Max 30 MB each
Page numbering starts at 1. Pages appear in the specified order.
How PASSFILE works
The file is processed locally in your browser. For images, PASS checks the actual output format, pixel dimensions and file size. If a strict size limit cannot be met, PASSFILE reports that instead of claiming success. A PASS does not guarantee acceptance by an external portal.
Privacy by design
Your selected files are not uploaded to PASSFILE servers. Merging or extracting PDFs loads a third-party JavaScript library over the network; use only with documents you are comfortable processing in the browser. Avoid extremely large or confidential documents while the service is in beta.
Convert a JPG to PNG in three steps
Select a JPEG file, make sure PNG is selected and leave both dimension fields empty. Click Make it fit and download the .png file.
Will converting JPG to PNG improve quality?
No. It preserves the decoded image without introducing new JPEG losses, but it cannot recreate details removed by the original JPEG encoding. PNG files are often larger than JPG photographs.
Will the background become transparent?
No. JPEG does not carry an alpha channel, so conversion alone does not remove an image background.
